What is the cost and payment structure?

The investment for the Level 1 training is £500.
Payment plan: £125 per month for 4 months (total £500) — with no additional fees.

• Continued access to learning materials for 6 months

  What happens after I sign up?

  
  
  ACCESS TO THE COURSE Immediately on purchase you will recieve an email from the course platform containing your log in details. 

• You will be able to log in and begin your training straight away with powerpoint presentations and membership of the dedicated study group as you prepare for your live training

• Download your training manuals and resources and read them ahead of each of the live training sessions.

• You will receive confirmation of the dates for your live sessions by email to add to your diary 

• We advise planning in around 3 hours a week for self study

• Each week for five weeks you will join Tracey live on zoom.

• As the course progresses you will receive access to additional manuals, downloads, and video materials including videos of 17 individual practical techniques and a video of the full treatment protocol PLUS a recommended reading list.

• The live sessions are your chance to ask questions and gain clarity on the theory and practical elements of the course

• All live sessions are recorded and available to all participants for a limited period of time.

   

  BONUS: On completion receive a place on the register of TMJ Therapists on our dedicated client focused website for free for one year (usually £47 per year renewable yearly) 

   

  How is the course delivered

• Our Online Training is delivered via the professional teaching platform Kajabi You may access your course via the desktop site, in your usual browser and also via an app that you can download from the app store  

• You can log in to the course portal at any time.

• The Level 1 training includes:
  Online modules (theory + video demonstrations)
  Live online group sessions with your instructor
  Practical guidance
  Printable manuals, templates and forms
  Access to a study-group community
  6 months continued access to materials

  What techniques will I learn?

  The course teaches:
  How to take a structured soft-tissue history
  Body-work style assessments (posture, movement, muscular and fascial patterns)
  External soft-tissue techniques for jaw, face, head and neck
  Intra-oral soft-tissue techniques (where professionally appropriate and with consent)
  How to combine techniques into a structured professional session
  How to manage client consent, boundaries, after-care and documentation
  These techniques are taught within the context of professional body-work, not medical treatment.

   

  How is the course assessed

• Assessment is taken in two forms. The written assessment is an open book quiz that you will complete through the course portal during the last week of the course.

• Submission of one case study via the course portal to check for understanding of key concepts and practical skills

  Is there an assessment?

  
  Yes. To complete the Level 1 course you will be asked to:
  Complete the online lessons
  Submit an online open book written assessment 
  Attend live online sessions
  Complete practical reflection and a simple case-study exercise (focused on your learning, not client outcomes)
  These are designed to support your understanding and professional development.

•  

  Will I receive a Certificate at the end?

• Once all modules & assessments have been completed you will recieve a certificate of achievement which will be worth 10 CPD points and 40 CPD Hours.

• In USA you will receive 30 CE with NCBTMB.

• In Canada you will recieve 24 CEC 

  What does the qualification allow me to do?

  This training provides additional professional skills in soft-tissue and body-work techniques.
  You must always work within your own qualification, insurance terms and regulatory framework.

  On completion of Level 1, you may:
  Integrate the techniques you’ve learned into your existing professional scope, working within your insurance and regulations
  Describe your work accurately as soft-tissue / body-work / manual therapy
  You may not:
  Advertise treatment or cure for TMJ disorders
  Make claims of “fixing,” “treating,” “healing,” or “improving symptoms”
  Represent yourself as a medical professional unless you are one
  We provide guidance on compliant language throughout the course.

  Are there any prerequisites for joining this online course?

• This online course is a Continued Professional Development training course designed for manual therapists, body workers and all medical and allied health professionals with an interest in successfully treating clients with TMJ Dysfunction.

• Practitioners attending this course must be qualified and fully insured to practice their chosen modality.

•  TMJ Therapy® is recognised by all major insurers including Holistic Insurance Services, Hiscox, Balens, and for medical /dental insurance with All Med Pro.

• TMJ Therapy® is recognised in Australia by Gallaghers Natural Therapies Insurance

  How long is the course?

  
  This is a 5 week online course. Each week you will have a live session with Tracey over zoom, and gain access to new content

  
  How will you teach the practical elements of the course ?

• In Week 3 and 4 you will receive access to videos of each individual practical technique plus a video of a full TMJ Therapy® session.

• Practice treatment sessions with volunteer clients,  family/friends may start from week 3, with a case study to complete by the end of the course.

• We abide by the distance selling law which states that as access to online materials  is immediate upon enrolment refunds are not available for this course.

   

  Is there more to learn?

• The good news is that while TMJ Level 1 has been taught by Tracey for over 25 years, TMJ Therapy® has also been available as a fully accredited Upper Level 3 qualification since 2018

• To complete the diploma you would simply register for two further advanced modules.
